A Letter to My Future Self

Well, finally it’s the last day of my freshman year of high school. I don’t think anyone could have guessed that by the end of it, there would be a virus that would slow the world to a halt. I of course understand that whenever you read this, things will be almost completely back to normal. For now at least, no one really seems to know how long this will go for, but I don’t doubt that my sophomore year will at least partially be in school. I wouldn’t even say that quarantine and social distancing as taken much of a toll on myself as it has for some other people. At this point, things are already starting to be somewhat back to normal. The parks are open, and even restaurants are allowed to be open, as long as their outside. Unfortunately, summer break is going to be sort of a letdown since most of the summer camps we always do are going to be cancelled. Nevertheless, things have been pretty uneventful, at least in our house for now. Since things seem to be dying down, I hope there are more things that we can do soon. I’ve heard that your freshman year goes by pretty fast, and even with staying home 24/7, I can say that it’s true. I’m pretty happy being at JC even though I do miss my middle school sometimes. But when everything goes back to the way it was before, it’ll be nice to actually talk to my friends and classmates face to face. Everyone says that there is a message to get from all of this, but for right now at least, I don’t see what that could be. I’m sure looking back there will be some answers, and by the time you read this, the Corona virus will be a thing of the past.
